Voices of Practitioners

We facilitated focus groups with professionals and carers who support women in addiction/recovery an with involvement in care proceedings. We used the interactive quilt we produced out of the focus groups with women as a starting point for conversation. Participants were invited to explore the many quotes from women with lived experience that are presented on the quilt, and were invited to reflect on which aspects of the quilt were aligned and in contrast with their own experiences, and to highlight anything that surprised them. Following this, we honed in on two key aspects of lived experience we wanted to discuss with each of the groups, starting with the scanning of the relevant QR code. At the end of each session, we discussed the interactive quilt itself as an object that can help facilitate difficult conversations.
