Dr Holly East

My research focuses on coastal evolution in both tropical and rocky cliff environments. In particular, I’m interested in (1) reconstructing the development of coral reef islands; (2) the intersections between ecology and geomorphology in coastal systems; and (3) the application of geospatial technologies (e.g. GIS and remote sensing) to improve our understanding of coastal dynamics. I have undertaken research in Indonesia, the Maldives, the Chagos Archipelago, and, a little closer to home, along the south coast of the UK.
