We are Northumbria University’s Creative Arts magazine. Publishing the work you love, all forms of creativity are welcome.
On Edge was created by Northumbria students for Northumbria students over a decade ago. Our goal has always been to showcase your creative work, no matter the form it takes.
We began as ‘The Edge’ in the early 2010s, releasing print magazines twice a year. During the pandemic, we could not continue this tradition and shifted to online only. In 2024, we released a pamphlet as our return to print and hope to release a full edition in 2025.
We publish poetry, short stories, flash fiction, prose extracts, art, photography, reviews, interviews, and so much more. If your type of creative work isn’t listed, don’t be afraid to reach out. We want to encourage students to express their creativity, whether that be with pen, paint, camera or cloth.
Regardless of the course you’re studying, we want to give you a platform to share your talent with other students and the wider world. We look forward to seeing the creative works that you come up with.
