ERiS 3

4 July 2019 If I can’t dance I don’t want your revolution!

Emma Goldman once said that if she could not dance she did not want our revolution. ERiS 3 was a compelling conversation about social practice, the relations between art, the body and political struggle and the dances which haunt our imaginations.

Dora Frankel, dancer and choreographer, presented a dance performance linked to her recent work on Poe and Turner. Martyn Hudson and Max Munday each talked about ghosts, haunting, the body, and revolution. The session closed with two recent films, each of which presented the body in distinctive ways.
