A small, flexible, low-tech public interdisciplinary arts space organised by Northumbria University in collaboration with BALTIC Centre for Contemporary art.
The Experimental Studio is where screenings, talks, symposia, performances and short-term exhibition projects takes place. Located on the ground floor of B39, High Bridge, Newcastle, the ES facilitates:
- A programme of public events organised by the BXNU Institute;
- A location for NU students and staff to try out ideas;
- A free bookable space for local artists, curators, activists, community groups, who want to hold discussions or try out artistic and curatorial ideas over a short timeframe.
The ES is equipped with two ceiling-mounted projectors, audio equipment, chairs and tables, blackout curtains and a mobile partition for flexible subdivision.
