From 10 to 12 September 2025, the European Network in Universal and Global History (ENIUGH) held the Eight European Congress on World and Global History. Taking place in the Swedish city of Växjö, several GLO members were involved. Along with colleagues from the ‘Rethinking Internationalism’ project, Daniel Laqua convened and spoke at a double panel on ‘Writing Global Histories through the Prism of Internationalism’. Gordon Barrett, who works as a Research Fellow on GLO, contributed a paper on ‘The Global Politics of Scientific Internationalism(s) in the 1957–58 International Geophysical Year and After’, which relates to some of the GLO-related research he is doing on global scientific governance. Meanwhile, Swiss GLO Co-I Amalia Ribi Forclaz co-convened a panel entitled ‘Towards an Environmental History of International Organisations, 1945–2000’, which also introduced the work of the SNF- funded project ‘Chemical Crossroads: Agrarian Transitions, Pesticide Controversies and International Governance, 1940–1970’, which Amalia is co-directing with Corinna Unger.
