Dr Katie Benson is Lecturer in Criminology and Programme Director of the MSc Financial Crime and Compliance in Digital Societies at the University of Manchester, and Associate Fellow at the RUSI Centre for Finance and Security. She previously worked in intelligence analysis and knowledge management roles in UK law enforcement. Katie’s research focuses on various forms of financial crime, non-compliance and organisational misconduct, and their regulation and control. Her research monograph, Lawyers and the Proceeds of Crime: The Facilitation of Money Laundering and its Control, won the American Society of Criminology Division of White-Collar and Corporate Crime Outstanding Book Award in 2022.<\/p>
