The point is genuinely just to have a good time<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-174ba6cff4bc695f52504e8fcbd2e212 wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udfc6&nbsp;<strong>The RE:PLAY Sandcastle Competition<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 open to all, judged with full ceremony, and culminating in the awarding of the coveted RE:PLAY Sandcastle Competition Trophy. Go minimalist. Go ambitious. Go completely unhinged with a three-turret interpretation of HCI theory rendered entirely in sand. All entries valid. We&#8217;re building the evidence base to show not just&nbsp;<em>that<\/em>&nbsp;playful learning works, but&nbsp;<em>how<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>for whom<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>why<\/em>. Our research shows that play:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-555d7245286786c0f610ebb4d99a2599\">builds creativity, belonging, and resilience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-882b26e9db5c96d525971e65d8c69e87\">increases intrinsic motivation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-ast-global-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dc4deb001636e99d48a84509071408e8\">normalises failure as a natural part of learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ab6e679f10d9406d7fad0ff5dc37ff14 wp-block-paragraph\">Which means a sandcastle competition isn&#8217;t just a fun way to spend lunch. It&#8217;s practically a research activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Come and find us<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beach event is a chance to meet the RE:PLAY team, connect with others who care about playful learning, and be part of a community we&#8217;re growing well beyond CHI.
