Engagement through partnership fosters, inclusivity, the opportunity to work, learn and create together for learning and teaching enhancement for all. This approach has seen far reaching benefits for both students and staff (Advance HE, 2014). Working in partnership empowers students to inform and improve the learning experiences of their peers and future cohorts. Students also gain an enhanced experience of partnership working, a transferable skill that improves their employability. Working in partnership with students has the power to support equitable access across a diverse student population.

Aims:

This learning circle aims to support the development of staff and student partnerships by :

1. Defining what SaP is, for Northumbria and to define the work for the learning circle.

2. Exploring what is happening across the university.

3. Building a bank of examples as clear outputs.

Longer term outputs to include a set of good practice principles/ recommendations or guides aligned with Northumbria pedagogy.
