Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Physical Geography and Environmental Science

Northumbria University seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences. You will contribute to an area of physical geography and environmental science to further enhance research, enterprise and teaching. This will include designing, developing and delivering high quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high quality academic outputs and inform teaching, and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.

Open to all suitably qualified applicants, in particular candidates with expertise aligned with existing strengths in cold and palaeoenvironments, environmental geochemistry and ecology, and those with experience at the science-policy interface.

The successful candidate must hold a first degree and be qualified to doctoral level in a relevant discipline, with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. A proven ability to deliver high quality research and teaching is essential, together with an appropriate publication profile and track record of bidding for external income.
