Status update

The International Information Science Foundation in Japan has announced the latest round of the Visiting Researcher Support Program. This funds travel expenses for researchers in computer science disciplines to travel to Japan to present at conferences or carry out research. The amount is fixed at 200,000 yen (approx £1200). Deadline: May 31st 2014.

Status update

As the UK National Contact Point for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, UKRO will run some information and proposal writing events for researchers interested in applying for the 2014 MSCA ‘Individual Fellowships’ call which closes on 11 September. Events will be held at Cardiff University on 28 May, University of Warwick on 9 June and the Royal Veterinary College, London on 19 June. You can register through the UKRO website.

Status update

UKRO is running a seminar on the Horizon 2020 COFUND scheme on 30 April in London. COFUND offers co-funding for new or existing regional, national and international programmes to open up to international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary research training and cross-sectoral mobility of researchers. The first call under Horizon 2020 has a deadline of 2 October 2014.

It’s not too late to book a place on the 11th April Finding Research Funding workshop. It aims to give Northumbria researchers at any stage of their career the tools they need to search for and find funding opportunities relevant to their research disciplines. It’ll be held on the City Campus from 10.00-12.00 on Friday 11th April. MSCA Individual Fellowships call open

Under Horizon 2020, the 2014 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships call has been published with a deadline of 11th September. Individual Fellowships provide opportunities for academics to develop their knowledge and skills through international and intersectoral mobility.
