UKRO is running two information and proposal writing events on the 2015 ERC Advanced Grants call. The sessions will be held at Newcastle University on Monday 23 February and at King’s College on Thursday 26 February. Participation is free but places are limited so register quickly if you are interested. The call is expected to open on the 2 February with a likely deadline of 2 June. More info from UKRO. The European Commission is planning an info day in Brussels on the 2nd February. It will focus on the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) dimension of the ICT-related Horizon 2020 calls with deadlines in 2015. Further info, including a draft programme and the EC’s background note on the RRI and SSH is available here.

On the following day, 3rd February, there will be a workshop on RRI and SSH in the ICT-related parts of the work programmes for 2016-17.

Both events will be web streamed. The link will be provided here in the next few weeks.

Alona Welby

The next Faculty of Business and Law Research and Enterprise Development Programme session of this academic year will be an informal research clinic held on Wednesday from 3.00-4.30 in room 222 of CCE1. It will serve as this month’s research funding drop-in session.

Louise Wyers (Pre-Award Coordinator), and I (Research Funding and Policy Manager for B&L) will be available along with Dr Lorraine Johnston to discuss research proposals in development or future funding opportunities. You can either drop-in and see us or make an appointment beforehand. To book a time, please email me.

We are very happy to talk to you regardless of where you’re at with research funding applications. We can help you identify appropriate funds to apply for, develop your application and assist with costings and internal approvals before submission.

Social sciences and humanities still lacking in Horizon 2020
