The ESRC has recently trailed the latest round of their Transformative Research Call designed to enable “genuinely transformative research ideas at the frontiers of the social sciences” and research which “challenges current thinking”. Funding of up to £250,000 will be available. Only two applications will be permitted per university. The call will open in September and close in January 2015. EPSRC and the Technology Strategy Board are inviting proposals for High Value Manufacturing Catapult fellowships. Fellowships will enable academic staff to spend six-month research visits, spread over one to four years, in one or more of the HVM Catapult centres. The projects must be aligned to work previously funded by EPSRC. Applicants should have a track record of EPSRC-funded research and strong awareness of the international context of their research.
